![]() Commenting on the award, John Magee, head of enterprise at Mayo Local Enterprise Office, said: “Mayo Ideas Lab has evolved to become a very strong vehicle for partnership and collaboration between the enterprise support agencies in Mayo. Mayo Ideas Lab project manager Joan Fahey attended the awards ceremony in the beautiful city of Tallinn, to accept the award on behalf of all the Mayo Ideas Lab partners. Mayo Ideas Lab was awarded under the Improving the Business Environment category, which recognises initiatives that support enterprise start-up and growth. Companies from all EU countries, as well as Iceland, Serbia, and Turkey can take part in the competition, with some 2,800 projects getting involved since the awards were established in 2006. The European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA ) is an initiative by the European Commission aimed at recognising and rewarding exceptional examples of support and promotion of entrepreneurship across Europe. Mayo Ideas Lab received a national award at the recent European Enterprise Promotion Awards 2017 during SME Enterprise Week in Tallinn, Estonia.
